Wincor Nixdorf's (Lottery) World
During Wincor World from January 30 to February 1, 2007, the German city of Paderborn will become an information platform for IT experts from around the world. Across 7,500 square meters of exhibition space, Wincor Nixdorf will be presenting its extensive portfolio of hardware, software, consulting, and services, all oriented toward optimizing business processes at banks and retail chain stores, reducing costs and complexity, and improving service for the customer. Sixty well-known partners, including Intel, Microsoft, and SAP, are among the exhibiting compa-nies. At Wincor World 2007, the business unit Lottery Solutions will present new tech-nological developments for the lottery sector.
Every year, Wincor World provides an impressive overview of the wide range of products and services offered by Wincor Nixdorf. This well-established company is one of the world's lead-ing suppliers of IT solutions for retail banking and retail enterprises.
Eighteen of the 25 largest banks in the world and 17 of the 25 strongest retail companies are Wincor Nixdorf customers. The company employs over 7,800 people and achieved revenues of 1.95 billion euros in the last fiscal year. Wincor Nixdorf is present in over 90 countries and has subsidiaries in 34 of them.
Wincor Nixdorf maximizes its know-how from its core business with banks and retail compa-nies in developing solutions for other sectors as well. The business unit Lottery Solutions, for example, offers products and solutions that are tailored to the specific requirements of the lottery market. For example, at the Lottery Solutions stand Wincor World visitors can test the small but multitalented Xion /S, a next-generation lottery terminal. The machine is an archi-tectural wonder: it unifies all modules of a conventional lottery terminal in a compact housing, including a scanner for playslips and a thermal printer for printing tickets. Barcode and chip card readers can also be installed. Three variants are available; in addition to a keyboard model there are two touch-screen variants that make the system even easier to use. The processor unit is also integrated into this all-in-one solution. That means there's enough space for the Xion /S at even the smallest POS!
The team from Lottery Solutions demonstrates lottery terminal expansion options using mul-timedia peripheral devices connected to a Xion /Mtop terminal. The Xion /Xpress kiosk ter-minal, also on display, addresses the self-service trend in the lottery sector, combining intui-tive operator guidance with multimedia infotainment. The high-speed thermal printer Xiprint+ is the fastest printer on the market right now ¨C and visitors to Wincor World have the opportu-nity to test its speed themselves!
